Velicham (meaning “Light”) is one of ISM Kerala’s flagship international Qur’an learning projects, designed to make the message of the Qur’an reach every home. Through this initiative, ISM aims to bring the Qur’an closer to the public in an engaging and accessible printed format.

Velicham follows a systematic, phase-based study plan, each phase covering one or more selected Surah from the Qur’an along with its detailed tafsir (interpretation) written by Amani Moulavi.

Currently, the 19th phase of Velicham is ongoing, focusing on Surat Yaseen. With each phase lasting six months, the project envisions completing the study of the entire Qur’an within ten years.

For children, a special parallel program called Balavelicham is conducted, focusing on smaller Surahs and easy-to-understand lessons. The 12th phase of Balavelicham is currently in progress, nurturing Qur’anic learning habits among young minds.

• For every phase, a Velicham book is published and distributed widely across Kerala and beyond.
• Each book contains tafsir lessons along with a question paper and answer sheet.
• The questions are objective type, enabling learners of all backgrounds to participate easily.
• Participants fill the answer sheet and submit it to the Velicham collection box placed in every ISM Unit.
• After the submission deadline, answer sheets are evaluated at different levels.
• Top 3 achievers are recognized at the state, district, zone, and unit levels.
• This multi-level reward system motivates consistent participation and continuous learning.
